In conjunction with National Posture Awareness Month, Dr. Sean Wheeler, a Sports Medicine and Pain physician in Overland Park, KS, and expert iOS app developer Rade | Eccles have produced the Posture Prompt application for iPhone and iPod Touch.
Posture Prompt is an intensive posture app with four patent-pending levels meant to train users into a routine of correct posture. Originally designed for physical therapists, physicians, chiropractors and personal trainers to give to their patients and clients, this app can also be used on its own for anyone motivated enough to take on the challenge.
Recently described in an iTunes review as “an Insanity workout for your posture,” this app features videos produced by local videographer Michael McGlinn to illustrate correct posture positions as each level of Posture Prompt becomes increasingly difficult.
Correct posture uses foundational muscles which are endurance muscles. When they are strong, they set the table for all motion.
Building this endurance takes time and attention to detail. Posture Prompt is designed to build endurance first in the muscles that keep your shoulders back, then in the abdominal muscles, followed by the neck muscles in a step-by-step proprietary process.
